The purpose of the grant is to improve the air quality of densely populated areas by replacing a solid fuel heater with a heater using renewable energy sources or district heating by upgrading an existing solid fuel heater, resulting in the improved fire safety and energy efficiency of residential heating systems.
The grant is intended for small residential buildings in densely populated areas whose main use is defined in the construction register as a detached, terraced or semi-detached house or a two-apartment residential building. It is also intended for terraced housing, two-apartment residential housing or semi-detached housing if they have an autonomous heating system.
The application rounds are opened according to the type of grant being applied for. The budget for the initial application round is 10 million euros. The first application round will start on 15.02.2024 at 09:00 and will remain open until 21.02.2024 at 23:59. Please note that the round remains open for seven days and we can extend the deadline where necessary. We accept and assess every application submitted during this period with no exceptions. An application submitted on the very first day does not give any kind of advantage in the assessment – applications are ranked only on the basis of taxable income. Therefore, we recommend that you do not rush to submit your application. If the number of interested parties on the first day turns out to be so high that the online environment cannot accept everyone who is trying to enter, please try again later. Works cannot be commenced and the prepayment cannot made before your application has been approved. However, you can obtain your taxation data certificate to have it ready. The instructions for this can be found on our FAQ page.
During this round, you can apply for grants for the following activities:
1) the purchase and installation of a furnace (modular furnace, heat-retaining fireplace furnace, handmade furnace) or reconstruction of an existing furnace to meet regulatory standards
2) when purchasing, installing or constructing a furnace, purchasing and installing a modular chimney with a chimney sleeve
3) connection to the district heating network, including the necessary pipeline installation and excavations, construction of a heat node and associated connection fees. This encompasses the purchase of radiators, pipelines and reinforcement with installation as well as the purchase and installation of underfloor heating.
If you wish to replace a heating device running on solid fuel and apply for a grant to purchase and install a water-to-air heat pump, geothermal heat pump or pellet/wood boiler, the application with the required additional documents must be submitted in the second grant round. If you fix up your furnace in the first round, you may also apply for a grant for a heat pump or a wood or pellet boiler installation in the second round. We will notify you when the round is open on the KredEx website.
